Chris Nolan’s presentation was a very shocking presentation. I found interesting all the things he said about the internet websites, I just couldn’t believe it. The most important thing that I learned from his presentation is on the credibility of internet websites. When, we search or look up something in the internet we take for granted that all the information provided is going to be correct. While the website might look professional and reliable it might contain bad information. Just like the Martin Luther King page that seem to be good information but when we found out it was written by the white organization it seem a little suspicious, this really surprised me because I would have never imagine this. Another interesting thing I learn was about what determines the result that come up and in the order they appear when you search something in Google. It is amazing how the links back to a certain webpage determine where it is listed. Learning that JcPenny did fake webpage’s linking to their site to appear in the top list was shocking because I would had never imagine this from a leading company. One should be watch out on the information gathered from the internet and try to use the scholar tab in Google or databases that provide more reliable information for research papers or for scholarly information
